The theme for Mental Health Week this year is “Social Connection”

This week is “Mental Health Week,” and while your child may not be in school to participate in some of the activities surrounding Mental Health Week, there are still many things that you can do at home to bring awareness to and encourage good mental health within your family.

Just like we all have physical health, we also all have mental health. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act, and it also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.

Each year, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) celebrates Mental Health Week in May in order to promote behaviours and attitudes that foster well-being, support good mental health and create a culture of understanding and acceptance.
