Hoop Classic Returns for 2023!
The 19th Annual Northern Exposure Hoop Classic wrapped up last Saturday evening after a great weekend of games and an exciting skills competition Friday night!
Hosted by La Crete Public School (games were also held at RVCS and BHPS), the tournament drew senior teams from La Crete, Fort Vermilion, High Level, Manning, Peace River, Fairview, Hines Creek, and High Prairie.
FVSD teams captured two medals at this year's tournament - GOLD for the Lancer Senior Boys and SILVER for the Lancer Senior Girls team! LCPS Boys played against the Glenmary Saints, winning 72 to 55. The LCPS Girls lost the gold 57 to 63 against Fairview but played hard, losing by only 6 points.
Local and visiting fans filled the bleachers Friday evening and Saturday, cheering enthusiastically for their respective teams. Games were also livestreamed on Facebook for fans not able to make it in person.
Congratulations to both Lancer teams on their medal wins!
The Senior Boys title was won by the La Crete Public School team and the Senior Girls title was won by the Fairview High School team! All of our players put in a tremendous amount of hard work and are to be commended. Way to hustle teams, we are proud of you!
