SNCS Admin Team Profiles for the 2022-2023 School Year

October 28, 2022

Cory Boudreau, Principal

Having started his career in the north, Cory always knew he would go back when the time was right. He spent 17 years in Nova Scotia then decided it was time, taking a position with FVSD in 2019. A passionate secondary school Biology teacher peaked his interest in learning more about the human body and biology soon became a favorite subject. Teaching has always been on the radar for Cory, as a kid he wanted to either be RCMP or a PE teacher.

We often hear it takes a "village to raise a child". As the year progresses, parents will be invited to the various events hosted at SNCS such as school concerts, evening events, and partnership events. We hope to strengthen our relationship with our parent community and community leaders where individuals or groups feel comfortable coming into the school to share their expertise and knowledge with our students and teachers. Our students are the future generations of our region, and we want to provide the best possible education available at SNCS!”

Christine Peterson, Assistant Principal

Raised in High Level, Christine attended school in the community from kindergarten to grade 12. An FVSD bursary recipient, Christine was able to pursue a career in education and return to the north with her degree in hand from the University of Alberta. She is now in her 23rd year with the Division and has known since grade two that she would become a teacher. With a passion for history and international politics, Social Studies was Christine’s favorite subject in school. She has always loved learning about the history of people, places, and things and how that continues to influence our world today.

“I look forward to bringing people into our building as much as possible this year. SNCS has a wonderful connection with parents and the community, and we celebrate this relationship through events like Christmas concert and Evening of the Arts! We also hope to add a Multicultural Festival to our annual events this year which I am really excited about. :)”
