Additional Information:

The Fort Vermilion School Division is hiring a full-time Student Wellness Coach to work with children and youth.  

This is a term position working the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year and into the 2025-26 school year.  The Student Wellness Coach will work within a collaborative team as directed by the Supervisor of Connectivity to provide group interventions as well as universal programs to help children and youth develop the skills needed to self-protect their mental and emotional well-being.  Working with school staff to create villages of support for children and youth will be a major focus. Program delivery will require traveling between school locations within the division region. 

 

Start Date:  January 6, 2025                         

End Date:  January 6, 2026 (possibility of extension)

 

Hours:  35 hours per week

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree/diploma in Social Work/Psychology/Child and Youth Care Work or related health services field
  • Experience working with small and large groups
  • Ability to establish rapport with students and their families
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational and case management skills
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of local cultures, surrounding schools, and communities are an asset
  • Evidence of successfully passing the required Police -Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and the Children’s Services- Intervention Record Check (IRC) if you have/had children

 

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary range:  $36,015 to $53,509 according to qualifications and experience
  • Benefits will be provided after 90 calendar days of employment
