Sample Spring ThemeThis is a sample theme and unit plan on Spring geared for Kindergarten classes.  Many of the ideas as well as the basic format could easily be adapted for grades 1 and 2 as well.

Rosebriar's Garden of DelightsThis site has some beautiful poems on sunflowers, roses, butterflies and more.  It also features seasonal poems, gardening tips and a month by month garden jobs section.  This site is more for adults, but some of the poems would be wonderful to read to your students or have them memorize.
