Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (teachers)

The Fort Vermilion School Division covers 100% of benefit premium costs for full-time teachers.  The costs of benefit premiums for part-time teachers are paid on a pro-rated basis according to the percentage of time worked.  Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan is the benefits carrier for teachers.  The current benefits include:

  • Alberta Heath Care
  • ASEBP Plan D, Schedule 2
  • ASEBP Extended Health Care Plan II
  • ASEBP Dental Care Plan III
  • ASEBP Vision Care Plan III

Recent improvements have been made to the Extended Health Care and Vision Care Explanation of Benefit (EOB) statements that are sent to covered members when a claim is made. These changes came into effect on Monday, October 26, 2009. The information sheet outlines each improvement that has been made to the EOB. Standard Life (support staff)

The mandatory Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance is provided by Citadel Insurance and information can be accessed through the following link: AD&D.

The Voluntary Accident Insurance is also provided by Citadel Insurance and information can be accessed through the following link: Voluntary Accident Insurance.  Employees are responsible for the premiums for this insurance.
