In Alberta public education refers to both both public and separate schools. The apple symbolizes education and knowledge. The checkmark represents the positive things that are happening in public education.
Below are examples of work done by students at Florence MacDougall Community School.
Kindergarten Grade One Grade Two Grade Three Past years
By Aela
It was an exciteful day in Cheery Town.
People had their socks upside-down!
They were so cheery, I felt it too,
So you know what to do….
SMILE!
It’s so fun!
So when the day’s done,
Brush your pearly whites
Then say goodnight.
You can wake up in the morning and eat breakfast;
So you better wake up or you will be last.
Play outside in Cheery Town,
Just go outside in your night gown.
And in Cheery Town you can do silly things
Like buy mustard to go with onion rings
Or paint a picture of slimy things.
Cheery Town is the place to go.
That’s why people live there….you know.
